Big Idea: “Abstract Art Coffee Shop Wall Mural”

Local Ann Arbor coffee shop Roos Roast asked Pendulee to design an abstract wall mural for their downtown shop. Using their style guide for paint colors, and the owner’s sketches as inspiration for the abstract wall, Pendulee brought a pop of color to the entranceway and redesigned the entrance space to make the wall feel less visually cluttered.

We cleared out the hectic corner and used a more muted, calming blue to make the space feel more welcoming. The vertical, free-form lines are pulled right from the owner’s sketchbook to draw more eyes to the product on the shelves.

This shop has a handmade feel to it, and it’s a design aspect the shop owner wanted to preserve.
