Specialty Salts and Simple Syrup Labels, 2024

Big Idea: “Specialty Salts and Simple Syrups Labels as Part of an Existing Online Store”

Client: Tryon Mountain Farms

Date: 2024

Location: Tryon, North Carolina

Tryon Mountain Farms, a cherished mom-and-pop retailer in North Carolina, embodies the essence of a “salt-of-the-earth” business. Renowned for their commitment to quality and personal touch, they take pride in offering artisanal products to their loyal customers. Recently, they decided to expand their product line to include additional specialty salts and simple syrups. However, they needed distinctive labels for these new products that would seamlessly integrate into their existing online store and label system. These labels also needed to stand on their own with a fresh, vibrant appeal.

The challenge was to create labels that maintained the brand’s existing aesthetic—a blend of rustic charm and authenticity—while also adding a burst of color to highlight the new products. The labels needed to be a natural extension of the brand, reflecting the same warmth and handcrafted feel customers associate with Tryon Mountain Farms. At the same time, they had to bring a fresh, eye-catching element to draw attention to the new products without overshadowing the existing ones.

To achieve this, the design process involved a careful selection of colors and elements that resonated with the brand’s identity. Earthy tones were chosen to maintain the farm’s roots, while brighter accents drew eyes to the newer products. The result was a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, with labels that fit comfortably within the Tryon Mountain Farms family and added a lively energy to the brand’s online presence.
