Big Idea: “Oklahoma Shelter Seeks Pet Rescue Websites to Help Home Pets”
Client: NEXUS Animals
Date: 2024
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
NEXUS has been a beacon of hope for horses in need of a home for many years. Recently, the organization decided to broaden its mission. The rescue and rehabilitation of pets is now not only focused on horses, but also dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. This expansion marks a significant step in their commitment to animal welfare. It allows them to reach and help a wider range of animals in distress.
Therefore, to support this new initiative, NEXUS set out to develop two new pet rescue websites: NEXUS Animals and NEXUS Pets. The goal was to create online platforms that would effectively communicate their expanded mission. These news sites also showcase the animals available for adoption. The goal of theses websites needed to reflect the core values and established reputation of NEXUS Equine, their existing sister site dedicated to horse rescue. It was crucial that the new sites maintain a consistent brand identity. Ensuring a cohesive experience for users who may visit multiple NEXUS sites was important to the client.
However, while the websites needed to maintain a familial connection with NEXUS Equine, they also needed to stand on their own aesthetically. Each site was designed to cater to the specific needs and interests of the animals they represent. NEXUS Animals would focus on the broader mission of the core name. It highlights the shelter’s overall efforts. NEXUS Pets would be more targeted, showcasing dogs, cats, some horses and guinea pigs specifically.
The design process involved careful consideration of color schemes, typography, and imagery. This ensured that the new sites felt familiar yet distinct. The result was a pair of websites that not only captured the essence of the NEXUS brand but also provided an inviting and informative user experience. Helping to further the shelter’s mission of rescuing and rehoming animals in need was the ultimate goal of these new sites.
