For years, the Bossier Parish Libraries preserved local archives across pieced-together spaces. With the opening of their brand-new, state-of-the-art facility, Northwest Louisiana’s rich history finally has the dedicated home it deserves.

As the exhibition design lead, our role was to deliver a complete history center exhibit design package for the new building, translating centuries of local history into large-format, accessible exhibits directly informed by archival photographs and historical documents.

Process

To ensure the new facility effectively communicates Bossier City’s complex past, our exhibition design focused on these core pillars:

• Immersive Spatial Storytelling: Creating interactive, tactile environments, including an educational Caddo hut replica detailing Indigenous heritage and a walk-through exhibit highlighting the historic Old Shed Road.
• Atmospheric Graphic Layouts: Applied authoritative environmental graphic design to guide visitors chronologically through Bossier’s defining historical eras.
• Comprehensive Museum Signage & Graphics: Designed every visual element in the space, from primary interpretive panels and wayfinding graphics to detailed exhibit labels, establishing a cohesive, accessible visual language throughout the entire facility.
